Borderline ovarian tumors (BOT) account for 10 to 20% of ovarian epithelial tumors. Surgical treatment of BOT is usually similar to that of ovarian cancers, but in selected young patients with early stage of the disease, a
conservative surgery may be indicated in the set of a fertility preservation management. Reproductive outcome after assisted reproductive techniques is favorable. This surgical attitude slightly increases the recurrence rate without influencing the global survival rate. In advanced disease stages, scientific data on conservative treatment are scarce.
