Stiglitz's report reviewed the main approaches available in the field of sustainable development indicators. The production of a benchmark index of overall sustainability felt was an elusive goal. In particular, it is not enough "green" GDP to generate messages about the sustainability of our growth model. The approach favored by the report is rather an approach called "by the stocks," which tries to follow the levels of different factors or barriers to growth, whether economic, social or environmental.
