Introduction

Much has been made in recent years on the tribal "Awakening"
Iraq, also known in Arabic as the "Sahwa". rear
the extensive media attention to the phenomenon and its success
security has outlined a deeper debate on the reality of
Iraqi tribalism and social and political role of the tribes in Iraq.
It would be here trying to see in this event the Sahwa
a tradition of "Millennium", synonymous with values, structures and
ancestral standards. The following article intends, however, illustrate
to what extent this phenomenon, far from embodying the "awakening" of a
any tradition, is actually a continuation of
dual process of change and subversion of Iraqi tribal object on
the contemporary period.
