- Write a review
The superficial venous thrombosis (TVS) of lower limbs have long been considered benign disease or a complication of the simple varicose veins. Recent work can better understand their natural history and severity potential to better define their place in the disease venous thromboembolism, and to specify their management therapeutic. It is necessary to distinguish between TVS occurring on varicose veins and those occurring in veins not varicose-called "healthy". When patients are explored by Doppler, the prevalence of deep vein thrombosis associated is on average 29% in published series, approximately grandeur confirmed by the results of two recent series including the important collective of patients. The rate of clinical PE and confirmed radiologically averages 4%. In terms of therapy, current recommendations (ACCP) are only low-grade, mostly 2B, making required the implementation of therapeutic trials large, they suggest, in patients with TVS a spontaneous, treatment with intermediate doses LMWH or UFH for at least 4 weeks, but leave the possibility of support for small areas TVS without the need for anticoagulation. treatment compression and continued the march should not be forgotten.
