Abstract
The Gautrain Rail project is one of the most important projects ever developed and built by Bouygues Travaux Publics. It consists of developing, designing, constructing, operating and maintaining a 77km long railway line. On the 77 km Gautrain project tracks, particular emphasis is given to the viaducts with no less than 13 viaducts: • 2 viaducts with prestressed beams • 2 cast in situ concrete balanced cantilever viaducts • 9 precast segments viaducts Decks have two railways for the future train Electrostar. The lengths of these viaducts range from 174 m (Viaduct 02) to 3278 m (Viaduct 5c). The total length of all viaducts is about 10 km. The 2 cast in situ concrete balanced cantilever viaducts V5b (John Vorster) and V5d (Jean Avenue) ensure the crossing of two major highways between Johannesburg and Pretoria with a strong skew angle. The largest spans of these two bridges are 110 m (John Vorster) and 121 m (Jean Avenue).
Past tenyears, literatureis an increasing numberof workstrying toidentify the differentleversto operateto encourageinnovationwithin companies.Incontinuationof this work focused onthe emergence of a"culture ofinnovation,"the state of theartmadein this articleallows us tobring about a feelingof "psychological safety" isthe only meansthat: - Membersof the organizationare notparalyzed byfear of failureand continueto offerbold initiatives, -Theseplayerslearn from themistakes thatwill inevitably becommitted during theinnovation processand are ableto no longerreproduce. We suggest, as such, somelines of thoughtto createaculture of "room for error"in organizations, starting withthe consolidation of thereward andsanction systemsby theinclinationof the direction to"Legends"failures. We stresshoweverthatthismay be possiblein the contextof American cultureis notnecessarily inthat ofFrench culture.
