Résumé
5 December 1973. The press has been covering for weeks the immediate aftermath of the Oil Crisis, triggered by the 1973 Arab - Israeli War. But there was nobody like the French political cartoonist, Jacques Faizant (1918 – 2006), to summarize the conflict as seen from Europe in this unique snapshot published in The Figaro. Of course, the cartoon ´s major message is about international diplomacy and politics. But the important point here is that this political moment also marked a turning point as regards thinking and policy on infrastructure in Europe.
